We only use the blue dye during the first treatments of the year—in January and February. This is when most grass is dormant and turns brown, making it harder to see where treatment has been applied.

The dye is purely for visual purposes. It helps our technicians see where they’ve already sprayed so your lawn gets an even and thorough treatment. We don’t use this dye in applications during the rest of the year.

There are some questions we often hear about the blue dye, so here are the facts to set things straight:

• The dye is not a weed-preventative. It does nothing to stop or control weeds. Its sole purpose is to help our team keep track of their work.
